The Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-Gh), has proposed to Government how the appointment of Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) should be done.

COVID-19: AGI calls for special development fund for contractors

The Construction Sector of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), has asked the Government to consider the establishment of a “special development fund” to cushion contractors “heavily impacted” by high overheads from halted works during the COVID-19 lockdown.

A press statement from the Sector, signed by its Chairman, Mr Rockson Dogbega, said COVID-19 had had its toll on both clients and contractors.

Contractors, it said, were faced with the challenges of fragmentation of the sector players – contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies.

It said a “special developmental fund” would, therefore, help surmount project financing hurdles and risks.

AGI Construction Sector demands contract mobilization payments

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Construction Sector is asking Government to pay Advance Mobilization to enable contractors resourced effectively to undertake projects timely.

Advance Mobilization implies a monetary payment of funds made to the contractor for initial expenditure in respect of site mobilization, and a fair proportion of job overheads. The payment is expected to reduce contractors’ need for working capital.

The Kotoka International Airport Dog Kennel project was today January 30, 2020 commissioned and handover to the Client, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

President Akufo-Addo Inspects 10km Nkawkaw Roads Network By Berock Ventures Ltd.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday, October 12, 2019 inspected ongoing construction of 10 kilometres of roads in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region, he commended the contractor, Messrs Berock Ventures Limited for a good work done and urge the contractor to complete the work on schedule.

The road construction works entailed the bituminous surfacing of Nkawkaw SHS-Domeabra Road (1.97kms); Agyakwa Hospital Road (1.6kms); Betrams-Asuogya Road (2.1kms); Adoagyiri/White House Road (1.98km); ADB-Assembly Road (0.5kms).

In addition are; Residency Road (2.2kms); Mococo Street (0.6kms); and Krofrom Street (0.7kms).
